On my nails: Rimmel "Grey Matter"

It's spring and I'm wearing grey on my nails... Anyway, one coat gave impressive results. :)

The Body Shop Vitamin C Moisturiser & Skin Reviver

Thursday, April 26, 2012

Let me just say that I absolutely love these two products. I don't want my blog to be one big The Body Shop commercial, but if I love something I always let you know. These two make a perfect duo for warmer and sunnier weather and let me tell you why. :)

First of all, I really enjoy the smell of their Vitamin C products. It's so fruity and fresh, mostly it reminds me of oranges. I know that TBS isn't the cheapest place to buy your skin care items (at least not in Estonia... ), but they're worth the price and you get what you pay for.
The main reason why I grabbed their Vitamin C Daily Moisturiser SPF30 was the SPF in it. I knew I wanted a strong SPF for summer - I'm not too careful with my body, but I always keep my face protected from the sun. I've never had any sunburns and my skin loves the sun, but I just don't love the idea of wrinkles and pigment marks on my face. This product is really moisturising and the fresh smell wakes you up right away. They recommend to use it right after the skin reviver, but I use it separately, meaning that on some days I use the serum and on some days I use the moisturiser - if I used them together, I would run out quite fast...
On some days I just don't want (or need) to use makeup, I just want something light to refresh my skin and their Vitamin C Skin Reviver does just that. Also, if I'm not really exposed to the sun (going out at night for example), I don't feel the need to put SPF on my skin. Speaking about going out, this skin reviver is a perfect makeup base! It makes your skin soooooo smooth... the texture is even smoother than some of the smoothest makeup primers I've used.

I strongly recommend both of these products... I don't have anything bad to say about them. But if I had to pick just one, I would pick the skin reviver.

Eesti keeles:

Seerumil on mugav pump. Lõhn on neil väga värske ja suvine, meenutades peamiselt apelsine.
Päevakreemi puhul oli mulle oluliseimaks teguriks olemasolev päikesekaitsefaktor (SPF). Ma pole suviti oma kehaga just kõige hoolikam, kuid oma nägu kaitsen ma päikese eest hoolega. Seega langes ka mu valik just sellele kreemile, millel on olemas SPF 30. See näokreem on tõhusalt niisutav, kuid mitte liiga rasvane.

L'Oreal Lumi Magique Foundation

Tuesday, April 24, 2012

I ran out of my Bourjois Healthy Mix serum and wanted to try something else, but with similar qualities. I needed something light and not matte - I like having a healthy glow that some foundations give. I recently tried a sample of L'oreal Lumi Magique and I really liked the light, soft texture of it so when I went to buy a new foundation, this was the first to catch my eye. I've been using this for a week now, enough time to give you my two cents about this foundation.

First of all, I love the glass bottle and the rose gold pump. The only thing I don't like about glass bottles is that once the pump doesn't give you any more product, there's still many uses left in the bottle. You'll have to break the pump to get to it and that's just... messy and unhygenic.

The foundation has a really light texture, but it still gives you medium to full coverage. I need just one pump to cover my whole face, one and a half on a bad day. It gives a nice glow to your skin, so if you want a really matte coverage I would find something else. My skin type is normal to dry, so I appreciate the glow Lumi Magique gives me, but I'm not sure how it would work on oily skin. The foundation itself is not oily, I would describe it as dewy. As for staying power... not that impressive. It doesn't get me through the whole day, more like 5-6 hours - 7-8 if I touch up with powder and keep my hands away from my face.

I would recommend this foundation to anyone who wants something light, but with good coverage. I like L'oreal foundations anyway, I think their True Match is quite legendary. I just wish they had more shades to choose from, W3 Gold Linen was closest to my perfect shade, but still a bit too dark. The lighter ones where again too light or had pink undertones.

I hope this review was somewhat helpful, I apologize if my limited English vocabulary/knowledge about foundations got in the way. :D

Julgen Lumi Magique'i kindlasti soovitada. Tegu on täitsa korraliku kreemiga, mis teeb ju põhimõtteliselt kõike, mida lubab. Aga enne selgitage välja, kas valikus on teile sobiv toon olemas. Ma arvan, et üks põhjuseid, miks me näeme tänaval nii paljusid tüdrukuid ja naisi valet tooni jumestuskreemi kandmas on fakt, et toonide valik on väga limiteeritud (ehk ei arvestata põhjamaise nahaga?) ja siis haarataksegi riiulilt the next best thing...

On my nails: Topshop "Barefoot"

It's been so long since my last nail post, but here it is - my new nail polish from Topshop. I have to say, I'm really impressed - one coat is plenty enough and it stays flawless for 4 days without a top coat. Well done, Topshop! :)

Revlon Lip Butters

Sunday, April 22, 2012
I don't think I've ever seen that much raving since Urban Decay came out with their Naked palette... Every Youtuber seemed to have these lip butters and at least half of them fel the need to buy all the colours. :D We don't have Revlon here, but I went to London recently and grabbed three from Superdrug. Just for fun, just to check them out. I kept two for myself and gave one ("Strawberry Shortcake") to my sister. I'm actually really happy with them and at least one of the colours I have is worth the hype.
I LOVE the packaging - I think it's pretty darn beautiful and looks more expensive than it really is. The texture of these balms is SO soft and the pigment quite impressive - at least "Lollipop" is very nicely pigmented and really does work as a lipstick. "Cupcake" is not as pigmented, but gives this beautiful light pink/nude look to your lips. But you have to be careful - it looks terrible if your lips are chapped. You should have perfect soft lips before applying this. These lip butters should have the texture of a lip balm, colour of a lipstick and shine of a lip gloss and I think it's quite true. The only downside I have with this product is the fact that it runs out so fast. It's so soft and balmy and if you were an active user it would probably only last you about 3-4 weeks.

If you don't own any of these, do check them out and pick a fun colour for spring and summer. I think they're worth it. I'd prefer brighter colours (like my "Lollipop") - they have more pigment and are just... more fun. :)
 "Cupcake"
 "Lollipop"
Ühel hetkel hakkasid kõik Youtube'i tüdrukud Revlon Lip Butter huulepalsamitest rääkima.

let me ramble

I've not been the most active blogger lately, reasons being that I had to get back into my work routine after the vacation and also... I kind of felt like crap as well. Not just because the long waited vacation was over, I just haven't felt that confident lately. Right when I got back from London I broke out really bad and I mean REALLY bad. I don't think I've ever looked that crazy before, my younger brother thought I had chicken pox. Basically, my whole chin and cheeck area was numb from all the breakouts and all I wanted to do was crawl under my blanket and not face my everyday responsibilities. I knew it was probably from the stress and not drinking enough water on my trip, also, my skin isn't used to subways and crowded places. Anyway, now I feel much better and I can't wait to get in proper blogger-shape again. I think I'll start with a hot shower, then soak my skin into The Body Shop's papaya body butter, pick out a cute outfit and see what the day has to offer. :)

Ma pole viimasel ajal just kõige aktiivsem blogija olnud ning pean silmas just enda näo siia lehele panemist, erinevate meigitoodete proovimist jms. :)
Nüüd hüppan kuuma duši alla, uputan oma lõpuks ometi välja puhanud keha The Body Shopi papaia kehavõisse ning vaatan, mida päeval mulle pakkuda on.

Donut Buns!

Monday, April 16, 2012
My good friend Triin came over today and while we were catching up and eating way too much junk I took advantage of her gorgeous long (never been dyed!) hair and made my first attempt with donut buns. I made a neat princess/ballerina bun and a more lazy one using two different techniques. I think they came out quite good so I thought I'd share. :)

New Bag for Spring & Summer

Sunday, April 15, 2012
Remember when I wrote about macaroons from PAUL and the title was "Thank god there's Paul... ". Well, again I have to thank a man called Paul, because thanks to him I found a perfect bag for spring and summer. I've known about Paul's Boutique handbags for a few years now, but I wasn't really that impressed with them. I don't like the big I-heart-PB logos and the tacky keychains on their bags and purses. But one bag that always caught my eye was the Maisy Large. It's so much classier... after you remove the colourful keychain ofcourse. :) I saw a nude version of this bag in Oxford St. Topshop and I fell in love. Maybe the fact that I was wearing mint green jeans helped, because this nude colour goes perfectly with mint green. But I decided right there and then that this was going to be my new spring and summer handbag.
The guality is really good and the bag is very stirdy. Ofcourse I have to take good care of it, since it is really light coloured, but it's also easy to clean, which is good. It comes with a long strap as well. I'll let the pictures explain the rest. I can't wait to wear it with all my colourful and pastel spring/summer clothes!
By the way, Leona Lewis has te exact same bag. :D
Here's the keychain I was talking about. It's so tacky and just doesn't go with this bag. I took it off right away.

Suur enamus Paul's Boutique kotte on minu meelest pisut maitsetud ja rohkem võib-olla teismeliste pärusmaa, kuid Maisy Large on stiilne klassika...
Leona Lewisel! :D
Paul's Boutique tooteid saate tšekata SIIT!

My Beauty Basket

A few weeks back Anna from ViviannaDoesMakeup did a fun post on her blog called "My Basket", where she wrote about all her everyday bath, skin and hair products that she keeps in a little basket and uses daily. While I was reading this post I kept peeking at my own little white basket that I keep next to my vanity. I basically have the same exact thing, the only exception being that I don't keep my washing products in it - just skin and hair stuff. I think it's a fun and comfortable way to keep all your everyday products in one place, just so you don't have to rumble around in your drawers to find everything you need. So, today I'll introduce you my little beauty basket. If you keep a similar thing in your room, I would be interested to see it - do a blogpost and leave it in the comments below! :)
I keep my shampoo, conditioner, volumizing mousse and heat protectant in the bathroom, so the only hair products in my basket are a hair spray (Schwarzkopf got2b Megalomania Collagen Lift Effect), a volumizing spray (Umberto Giannini Backcomb In A Bottle), a dry shampoo (Batiste Clean & Classic) and a serum for the ends of my hair (Lee Stafford Prevent & Repair Split Ends).
For my face I have just a regular day cream (Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion), two night creams (one really moisturising and one lighter) (The Body Shop Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream, Biore Restore Skin-Boosting Night Serum), an eye cream (The Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream) and a skin reviver to use on the days I feel especially dull and sleepy (The Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Reviver). If I want a quick tan I use my Shiseido Brilliant Bronze Tinted Self-Tanning Cream.
I have way too many body lotions, but at the moment my basket holds three: Escada Into the Blue Precious Body Moisturizer (this smells SO good!), Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter and Dove Summer Glow in case I need to look more tanned for an event or something.
Last two products are my favourite The Body Shop Peppermint Cooling Foot Lotion (okay, this is starting to sound like TBS add... ) and last, but not least, I always keep my Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Skin Protectant close.
That's all I keep in my beauty basket - the contents don't always stay the same of course, I switch up my hair and body products quite often. If I had to name the basics that never leave the basket, they would probably be the foot cream, Dove Summer Glow and Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Skin Protectant. But these are the contents now and I'm quite happy with them... Maybe not with the Clinique day cream. I don't think it's that moisturizing to be honest. :)
Mõned nädalad tagasi tegi üks ilublogija (link üleval "My Basket" all) postituse oma ilukorvist, kus ta hoiab kõiki tooteid, mille järele haarab igapäevaselt. ;)
Toodete nimekiri on ülal - kui kellelgi on huvi mõne konkreetse toote kohta, küsige julgelt! Olen eraldi arvustuste soovidele alati avatud. :)

Tuesday in London

Saturday, April 14, 2012
Notting Hill, Natural History Museum, Science Museum with a child on a leash (???) and Regent's Park with the cutest squirrel on the planet. This was our last day and we had to say goodbye...
Viimane päev Londonis möödus Notting Hillis, loodusmuuseumis, teadusmuuseumis (kus saime teada, et on täitsa okei last nagu koera rihma otsas vedada) ja Regent's Parkis, kus tutvusime imearmsate oravatega.
